Precision turning reduces ring and circle premachining costs up to 50% and provides dimensional tolerances to ±.001", concentricity within .001", and surface finishes to 32 Ra.
TCI vacuum chucks blanks into position for turning. As the chuck rotates, the tool plunges into the blank and creates a complete, close tolerance ring or circle in up to half the time of conventional methods.
Plus, part-to-part consistency is significantly improved and the number of operations and set-ups is reduced.
To ensure close-tolerance ring concentricity, TCI specializes in turning both outside and inside diameters in the same cut. Producing a ring in one operation gives TCI greater control during premachining and improves ring concentricity.
Configurations such as counter bores, tapers, radii, steps, grooves, and counter-sinks can be performed economically in the same operation without the part leaving the chuck.
Turned circles provide a significant material cost savings on thin parts due to the kerf required to part similar pieces from rod.
